I can’t take credit for it, because it was a joint venture between me and hubby. You can make 500 g of chocolate spread. Per 100 g has 322.3 calories – 25.3 g proteins; 10.8 g fats; 36.4 g carbs; 4.2 g fibers.
I got a good silicone cake mould from Lidl. The silicone looks strong and the glass is scratch-resistant, at an amazing price: £4!!
I found this recipe in a cookbook and I’ve decided to give it a try. I was impressed how well it turned out to be. It’s versatile, I’ve used the peppers as a side dish with omelet and on pizza, but it can be added to a lot of other dishes. It’s very easy to make, so that’s an added bonus. I used 900g peppers, oil and salt.
Last time we bought groceries, I’ve seen this beautiful mixed squash and I said I must buy a few. The plan was to leave them as intact as possible, so, I stuffed them. I didn’t take pictures whiles I was prepare them, sorry for that.
The 3 squashes had 794 calories in total, without the yogurt. It’s easy to make, delicious, filling and low in calories.
– 100g of dry mince soy, soaked in boiled water for 30 minutes
– 100g tomato paste
– 2 onions chopped
– 1 spoon of oil
When I’m very busy and I don’t have a lot of time to cook… I bake. It’s easier to have a meal ready by leaving some root vegetables in the oven for 45 minutes – 1 hour, no hassle. I’ve made roasted celeriac a few times and it’s the perfect side dish.
After China, the second country I’ve decided to go with was very hard for me: Romanian cuisine. Considering that I was born and bred there, finding a dish that I didn’t cook before was challenging. I’ve asked some friends for advice, as they are from different parts of the country and knew regional recipes.
I decided to make 3 dishes. The first one was new for us, the second one was hubby’s choice and the last one was new for hubby. polenta fried dumplings (recipe), pea stew (recipe) and plum dumplings (recipe) for dessert. I had plum dumplings as a child, but for an unknown reason, never cooked them.
If you want to try more Romanian recipes, see also: aubergine caviar and sweet fruit loaf (cozonac). I don’t cook Romanian often as I prefer to try new dishes and flavours. If I’ll cook more Romanian dishes in a traditional way, I’ll add them here. I will do the same with all the other countries or regions.
Polenta fried dumplings and pea stew. I liked the polenta dumplings a lot, they are tasty. I ate a lot of polenta with cabbage rolls; with soured cream, grated cheese and fried egg on top. I never tried to fry the polenta and it’s so good.
Now I have new ideas, to make pancakes from polenta. Not sure how much I can work with the made polenta, I have to try it. Yesterday I’ve tried to handle it as little as possible, as I wanted to follow the recipe.
I had them so many times as a child, but as a teen my mother stopped making them, not sure why.
They are easy to make and it’s a healthy recipe which tastes amazing. It’s a great dessert for diet as I used only 50g of sugar to make 10 dumplings, that is the equivalent of 1 teaspoon of sugar per portion.
I cooked the rice and bulgur a day before, I mixed them and I’ve used half of it for a meal. The bulgur has to be soaked in boiling water for 30 minutes and the rice needs around 20 minutes to cook. The other half I’ve saved it for the following day.
