At a restaurant I had some Vegan Whipped Cream and I loved it. I asked the waiter about it and he told me about Heavenly Whipped Vegan Spray Cream from Food Heaven. I mentioned this story on a previous blog post, when I shared a recipe for roasted figs. Food Haven has a range of products which I’m eager to try, given the chance.
I bought the first spray from Brighton, on holiday. I was too excited to find it in shops and I decided to take it all the way from there to Liverpool. So far I’ve used a spray and now I’m going to use the second one. A spray is around £2. If you are wondering, I didn’t have to go to Brighton (that’s a shame) to get the second spray, as I found it in a supermarket in Liverpool. Hopefully more and more supermarkets will stock it, as surely it is a demand for free-from whipped cream.
The product is made with palm oil, as you can imagine, but the palm oil for it is responsibly sourced. This is mentioned on the packaging.
When it comes to taste, it’s likely you will not be able to tell the difference between this spray of vegan whipped cream and a standard spray of whipped cream. The cream is sweet, but not too sweet, and it works great with other desserts, or, as you can see in the picture, with a lush hot chocolate. It keeps its shape even on warm beverages, just as a dairy whipped cream would do.
I am very happy with the product and when it comes to price is more expensive than a supermarket’s own label product, but it is roughly the same price as a branded one. So, if you like whipped cream, why not try something that is cruelty-free. Even if you are not inclined to do so, it’s still good that you know there is an alternative out there for your friends and family who might have a dairy-free diet.
Have you ever tried vegan whipped cream?
